Throughout the 1998-99 season, the Perry High School debate team has done exceptionally well. This years resolution, Resolved: that the United States should change its foreign policy toward Russia, has been somewhat boring, but with our Freedom of Religion 1AC we have made it interesting and unique. Our negative strategy is also uniquely Perry. Our coach, Scott Daniel, has worked with the four varsity members of the team to prepare them for the eventual region meet. The work paid off because as you already know, Perry won its Region. I can't emphasize how great it feels to beat Mary Persons. We now have State to look forward to on February 12 and 13. Our major competition will be Carrollton, Westminster, and Gainesville. I post the results ASAP.
The Perry High Debate team attends tournaments throughout the state of Georgia from September to April. Some tournaments are Saturday only and others are Friday and Saturday tournaments. Another added bonus of the Perry Debate Team is improved navigation skills, food and hotel kritiking, hilarious inside-jokes and the harmless making fun of people.
